Khimik secured a spot in the VHL playoff final by defeating Novokuznetsk Metallurg 4-2 in their sixth semifinal match, winning the series 4-2. The farm team of Spartak Moscow will now compete for the Russian Champion Cup.
At home, Khimik dominated Metallurg with a 4-2 victory, claiming the series at the Olimpbet VHL semifinals. Goals for the hosts came from Konstantin Lukin, Alexander Belyaev, Roman Rukavishnikov, and Nikita Kholodilin. For the visitors, Mark Verba and Dmitry Sheshin found the net.
Spartak’s affiliate will face the winner of the series between Yugra and Neftyanik (currently 3-2) in the final. This marks Khimik’s third appearance in a VHL final (since the 2010/11 season). In 2023, the club lifted the Petrov Cup, defeating Krasnoyarsk’s Sokol in the final.
