Sporting CP 1-0 Porto

The match, contested between the cup’s two most recent winners—Porto in 2024 and Sporting last season—was tightly balanced, with few clear scoring opportunities. Both teams struck the woodwork, denying what would have been goals. Sporting’s Ivan Fresneda hit the post twice, once in each half, while Porto’s Alan Varela also came close early in the second period.
The deadlock was broken in the 62nd minute when a foul by Ivorian midfielder Seko Fofana on Danish Morten Hjulmand inside the box resulted in a penalty. Luis Suárez stepped up and converted, handing Sporting a narrow 1-0 victory at the Estádio José Alvalade.
The winner of this semifinal will face the victor of the other tie, between second-tier Torreense and third-tier Fafe, which ended 1-1 in their first leg in February. The return legs are scheduled for April 22, with Sporting traveling to Porto’s Estádio do Dragão, and Torreense hosting at the Estádio Manuel Marqués.
