Luka Dončić expressed deep frustration after being sidelined with an injury during the Lakers’ Western Conference semifinals loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers fell 115-110 at home on May 12, completing a 4-0 sweep that ended their playoff run.
Speaking to the media postgame, Dončić said, “Yes, it’s very frustrating. I know some people hoped I’d return, but I’m clearly far from being cleared to play.”
He also addressed misleading reports circulating in the media. “Those who saw my MRI don’t really understand it, so those stories weren’t true. If I could play, I’d be 100% out there. Everyone in this room knows that.”
The star guard described the period as incredibly tough. “This is the best time of year for basketball. Not being able to help my team really hurts. As for the offseason, I’m still recovering – that’s the priority right now.”
