The Hall of Fame of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) will change venues for its fifth edition. After Seville hosted the gala for the first four years, the Spanish Basketball Hall of Fame moves to Lleida. The Seu Vella, a cathedral declared a national monument, will host the event, organized jointly by the FEB and Diario AS, in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the Government of Catalonia, the Lleida City Council, and the Provincial Council of Lleida. This exceptional setting will bring together some of the most prominent figures in the history of Spanish basketball. The Catalan city will host the Hall of Fame for four years, until 2028, thanks to an agreement between the FEB and the Government of Catalonia.
“I appreciate and value the involvement of the Government of Catalonia, as well as the city of Lleida and its basketball fans. Also the Provincial Council of Lleida, which did not want to miss the opportunity to join this event,” said FEB President Elisa Aguilar.
The FEB President also expressed enthusiasm for “the new edition of the Hall of Fame, which has already become a benchmark annual event for our sport, where we honor the great protagonists of basketball history.” She thanked and highlighted “the involvement of the Government of Catalonia, which this summer also managed to bring the men’s national team back to Badalona; and the city of Lleida and its basketball fans, who filled the Madrid Arena two years ago during the team’s promotion in the Primera FEB Final Four. Also the Provincial Council of Lleida, which did not want to miss the opportunity to join this event that will place Lleida at the center of Spanish basketball on that night next month. Thanks to the strategic agreement we signed with the Government of Catalonia for the period 2025-2028, the Hall of Fame will be in Lleida, the 2026 Queen’s Cup in Tarragona, and we will continue promoting and organizing major sports events in the Catalan territory.”
